Senior Industrial Designer

Axiom is looking for a passionate and talented Industrial Designer with 5 or more years of experience. The candidate should be self-driven and be able to chaperone design projects right from the beginning to completion. Passion for Industrial Design and the desire to constantly improve is a must. The right candidate is a great Industrial Designer, is flexible & willing to experiment with new processes, can make rational decisions, and has good interpersonal skills and excellent leadership qualities.
Knowledge and experience in Virtual Reality development is a plus.
Educational background – Master’s in Industrial Design
Roles and Responsibilities
– Coordinating with clients to understand design requirements
– Industrial Design of a wide range of products ranging from FMCG packaging to electronic goods
– Primary (on-field) and Secondary (online) Design research
– Creating sketches, CAD models, info graphics, and presentations to present ID concepts
– Collaborating with engineers, manufacturers and vendors
– Prototyping
– Coordinating with global Axiom teams on projects and internal initiatives
– Project planning, creating approach notes for new enquiries
– ID Project management
– Employee hiring for the ID team
– Conducting regular appraisals and reviews of ID team members
– Mentoring for team members
– Providing training in tool skills and design skills to team members
Skills Required
– Ability to think creatively and provide meaningful solutions to design problems
– Strong sketching skills
– Excellent 3D surface modeling and rendering skills
– 2D illustration
– Ability to create and execute impactful design presentations
– Good communication skills and knowledge of English
– Good knowledge of manufacturing processes related to plastics/paperboard/metals and other materials
Tools
– Rhinoceros 3D for advanced surface modeling
– Keyshot
– Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
– Microsoft Office
– Knowledge of Unreal Engine or other VR development software is a plus
– Video editing tools
